Digital Photography Scavenger Hunt Submission Now Ready
Individuals who want to enter the Digital Photography Scavenger Hunt will use the online submission form to upload their photos. To enter the contest you must take one picture in each of six categories and submit them electronically by Friday, July 16, at midnight. More information about the competition, including the six categories, is available in the premium book. There is no entry fee and no prize money awarded. However, first place will earn a 2010 Mercer County Fair collectible crock.
Please be patient when uploading your entries. If your pictures are high resolution, it may take several minutes for them to successfully upload through our web site. You will receive a confirmation page when your upload is completed.
Antique Tractor Drive to Make Lunch Stop at Fairgrounds Saturday
The antique tractor ride will be making a lunch time stop at the Fairgrounds on Saturday, July 17. Be sure to come out and check out all the fun old tractors that go on this all day trip. They will be leaving after lunch to continue on their ride, so be sure to get out early to see them.
New Windsor Drill Team/Dog Obedience Group Performing Thursday Night
In addition to the Draft Horse Pull on Thursday night, the New Windsor Drill Team and the Dog Obedience Group will be doing drills and demonstrations. Be sure to check out these youth as they display their talented animals.
Entries Can Still Be Made for Gardening and Floriculture
The deadline for entry in all departments except Department J (Gardening) and Department L (Floriculture) has passed. Entries in Gardening and Floricultural will be accepted during check in on Tuesday, July 13, from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. But don't be late....entries close precisely at 1 p.m.
The 2010 Mercer County Fair premium book and the entry form are available online. Printed versions were mailed to last year's exhibitors in late May.

Check Out Best of Show Pottery
The Best of Show pottery pieces have been received from Maple City Pottery where they were handmade especially for our Fair. The top entries in Departments M through P1 will earn a teapot with a line drawing of Floral Hall on it. The top winners in Departments J and L will take home a watering can with a line drawing of the Pumpkin House on it.
There is also a collectible crock available for purchase. This year it is a popcorn bowl and features the Grandstand. It is available from the Secretary's Office for $35.

New Food Vendors on Grounds
The Boondocks restaurant in Joy will be operating the Grandstand concession stand this year and the Meat Market will have their stand on the grounds. This is in addition to our faithful stands of Vitales, the Jaycee Pork Chop Stand and Town and Country Snack Shack.
Harness Racing Moves to Wednesday at NOON
Harness racing at the Mercer County Fair moves to Wednesday, July 14, at noon. There is free gate admission until 3 p.m. on Wednesday, so come to watch some remarkable trotters and pacers competing on one of the fastest tracks in western Illinois for free!!!

Magic Matt Returns for Daily Shows
The family magic of Magic Matt returns to the Mercer County Fair in 2010. He performs three times daily Wednesday, Friday and Saturday afternoon/evenings. He will only have one performance Thursday evening. Magic Matt has entertained at numerous county fairs across Illinois and Wisconsin and is a creative genius at making balloon characters. Be sure to look for his white tent in front of the Merchants' Building.
